Abstract
Polymerization of epsilon-caprolactone had been investigated with cycl opentadienyl sodium as an initiator. The effects of reaction time, tem perature, and concentration of the initiator on the yield and molecula r weight of the polymer were discussed. It was shown that the high mol ecular weight of poly(epsilon-caprolactone) (13 x 10(4)) was obtained with cyclopentadienyl sodium initiator, and the mechanism of polymeriz ation was also discussed.
