Aj. Ying et al., POSTTRANSPLANTATION LYMPHOPROLIFERATIVE DISORDER IN CARDIAC TRANSPLANT ALLOGRAFTS, The Annals of thoracic surgery, 64(6), 1997, pp. 1822-1824
Posttransplantation lymphoproliferative disorder occurs in 1.5% to 13%
of heart transplant recipients and rarely involves the allograft. We
report a case of posttransplantation lymphoproliferative disorder rest
ricted to the mitral valve in a heart transplant recipient. Thirteen c
ases of cardiac allograft involvement by posttransplantation lymphopro
liferative disorder are reported in the literature. None are restricte
d to the allograft. Five specify sites of cardiac involvement. Valvula
r masses without infection necessitate evaluation for posttransplantat
ion lymphoproliferative disorder involvement of: the cardiac allograft
valve. (C) 1997 by The Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
