Abstract
Peripheral cardiopulmonary bypass with cardioplegia has facilitated mi nimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting and mitral valve repl acement. The cardiopulmonary bypass system was modified to allow bicav al occlusion for right heart operations. In 4 canine studies, three va riants of bicaval cannulation techniques were successfully used for at rial septal defect repair via a right minithoracotomy.
