S. Krystofova et al., PHOSPHOINOSITIDES AND INOSITOL PHOSPHATES IN GROWTH AND PHOTOCONIDIATION OF TRICHODERMA-VIRIDE, Folia microbiologica, 43(1), 1998, pp. 89-96
Incorporation of H-3-inositol and P-32 into the mycelium of Trichoderm
a viride shows that this fungus contains phosphoinositides (PI) and in
ositol phosphates (IF). Under conditions suitable for the induction of
photoconidiation, a pulse of light did not elicit a change in the inc
orporation of P-32 but decreased the incorporation of H-3-inositol int
o PI. The incorporation of H-3-inositol into IP was unaffected by ligh
t. Inhibitors of PI metabolism, Li+ and neomycin, inhibited more effec
tively photoconidiation than vegetative growth. The distribution of th
e H-3-inositol label in inositol phosphates was not changed by the lig
ht pulse.
