Abstract
Annual counts of the five commonest bird species in an oak wood in sou theastern England over 22 years showed evidence for density-dependent feedback in their year-to-year fluctuations, The counts also showed ev idence for effects of winter weather in two species (Wren Troglodytes troglodytes and Robin Erithacus rubecula). Evidence for density-depend ence in the Wren was greatly strengthened when effects of winter weath er were included in the analysis.
