Abstract
The reactions of the 4,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)-1,3,2-diazasilole deriva tive 1 with the sterically encumbered silylenes R2Si, R = tBu, 2,4,6-M e3C6H2, proceed by partial degradation of one of the CF3 groups to fur nish the N-di-tertbutylfluorosilyl (3a) or N-fluorodimesitylsilyl (3b) substituted -trifluoromethyl-1,3-diaza-2-silacyclopent-5-enes. The st ructure of 3a was determined by Xray crystallography.
