Abstract
In a recent paper published in this Journal, Shindo et al. presented a theoretical analysis of the hydrate formation on the surface of a sph erical CO2 drop held in a medium of water-a simplified model problem o f a key process of the ocean disposal of CO2 (Shindo et al., Energy Co nversion Management, 1996, 37, 485). This note gives some comments on the above paper, pointing out some mathematical/physical inconsistenci es and questionable physical inferences found in this paper, while res pecting the authors' primary view that CO2 hydrate forms in the liquid CO2 phase as tiny particles.
