Jh. Fang et al., FABRICATION, CHARACTERIZATION, AND PHOTOVOLTAIC STUDY OF DYE-CO-MODIFIED TIO2 ELECTRODES, New journal of chemistry, 21(12), 1997, pp. 1303-1307
By using simultaneously mixed adsorption and step-by-step adsorption p
rocedures, porphyrin and phthalocyanine monolayer dye molecules were c
o-modified on the surface of TiO2 microporous electrodes in two differ
ent forms. Since porphyrin and phthalocyanine dye molecules have diffe
rent absorption spectra in the visible region, a better absorption and
photocurrent action spectra match to the solar spectrum have been obt
ained for microporous TiO2 electrodes sensitized by a combination of Z
nTSPP and GaTSPc dye molecules. Experimental results show that the co-
adsorption procedure can effectively suppress the aggregation of the G
aTSPc molecules on the electrode and is an efficient method to improve
the photoresponse of the electrode.
