Abstract
The parasitic wasp genus Vipio Latreille is revised for America north of Mexico. Eleven species are recognized, four of them new: V. belfrag ei (Cresson), V. catenulatus sp. nov., V. croceus (Cresson), V. longip alpus sp. nov., V. mexicanus sp. nov., V. moneilemae Gahan, V. piceipe ctus Viereck, V. rugator (Say), V. schwarzii (Ashmead), V. shawi sp. n ov., and V. texanus (Cresson). Bracon uniformis Cresson, (1865), and V ipio coloradensis Ashmead, (1888) are new junior subjective synonyms o f V. croceus (Cresson), 1865, and Bracon albifrons Cresson, 1865, and Bracon aciculatus Cresson, 1865, are new junior subjective synonyms of V. rugator. All species are (re-)described, and distributional and fl ight season data are summarized. An illustrated key to species is prov ided.
