Abstract
An experimental investigation has been carried out to find the condens ing side heat transfer coefficient, h(0), during condensation of steam over a plain tube, a circular integral-fin tube(CIFT) and a spine int egral-fin tube(SIFT). The GIFT and SIFT have enhanced the h(0) by a fa ctor of 2.5 and 3.2 respectively. The experimental values of h(0) for GIFT were compared with those predicted from different models. The Hon da and Nozu model underpredicted the values of h(0) in a range of 10 t o 20 percent. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd.
