Background and Aims: Metachronous cecal and sigmoid volvulus is very r are. Material and Methods: A case report. Results and conclusion: Two different volvuli necessitated three operations. Cecal volvulus was tr eated by caecostomy and sigmoid volvulus by detorsion three years late r. Sigmoid volvulus recurred after simple operative detorsion, but the patient recovered without complications after a mesocolosplasty. We r ecommend operative treatment when recurrent colonic volvulus is suspec ted, and resection is preferable in medically fit patients.
