Knowledge of the flow behavior of fiber-reinforced thermoplastics is o
f crucial importance for component designers. In the manufacture of th
in-walled, ribbed components based on glass-mat-reinforced, thermoplas
tic semi-finished products (GMT) and long-fiber-reinforced thermoplast
ics (LFT), it was found that LFT had significantly better fiber flow p
roperties in thin ribs than GMT.
