Gy. Oh et Hy. Choi, INTERCHAIN PHOTOCONDUCTIVITY OF ANISOTROPIC POLARONS IN DIAGONALLY DISORDERED ORGANIC-SOLIDS, Journal of the Korean Physical Society, 32(1), 1998, pp. 97-101
We calculate the temperature dependence of the photoconductivity sigma
(omega --> 0,T) perpendicular to the chain direction of oriented trans
-polyacetylenes, (CH)(x), due to photoexcited anisotropic polarons. Th
e calculations are performed with the standard small polaron theory ex
tended to interchain dynamics of anisotropic polarons with diagonal di
sorders. The calculated sigma(T) of anisotropic polarons increases wit
h the temperature in the high-T region, decreases as the temperature i
s reduced in the low-T region, and is nearly T independent in the inte
rmediate T region. This temperature dependence of the interchain photo
conductivity is in good agreement with the previously reported photocu
rrent measurements on (CH)(x).
