Abstract
Gel electrophoresis in urea gradient was applied to study the unfoldin g effect of increasing concentrations of urea on the nucleosome struct ure. We showed that conformational stability of nucleosomes is determi ned by nucleotide sequence but not by transcriptional activity of DNA in chromatin.
