Abstract
Cod were trained to detect a shift in the repetition rate of intense u ltrasonic pulses (approximately 210 dB re 1 mu Pa). For cod exposed to predation by toothed whales, this ability may provide information to guide evasive manoeuvres. (C) 1998 The Fisheries Society of the Britis h Isles.
