In this Note an iterative method for solving the two-dimensional stati
onary incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in bounded domain is stud
ied. The method applies to the framework proposed in a recent author's
work, for the solution of these equations expressed in terms of the s
tream function and the harmonic and zero boundary trace components of
the vorticity. The corresponding algorithm allows the uncoupled comput
ation of the three unknown functions al each iteration, and converges
under the assumption that the Reynolds number is sufficiently low.
