METHYL-ETHER - A NONPOLLUTING FUEL AND PR OPELLER

Methyl ether has recently found its utilisation as aerosols propeller and freezing agent, replacing chlorofluorocarbides, blamed for the ozo ne layer destruction. Research is under way for using methyl ether as non-polluting diesel fuel. This paper is a review of methyl ether prep aration and utilization, especially for feeding the diesel engines; it has been obtained from two greenhouse-effect gases, i.e. methane and carbon dioxide.
