Abstract
Two novel isomeric tetraoxygenated homoisoflavanones, -hydroxy-7-O-met hyl-3-(3-hydroxy-4-O-methylbenzyl) chroman-4-one 1 and -hydroxy-7-O-me thyl-3-(4-hydroxy-3-O-methylbenzyl) chroman-4-one 2 have been synthesi sed and the structure of a new homoisoflavanone, reported from Pteroca rpus marsupium Roxb, has been confirmed as 1 by direct comparison with synthetic samples.
