Abstract
In a real normed space (E, \\ . \\) we consider the perpendicular bise ctors associated to any linear segment, and using them we give some ch aracterizations of inner product spaces. Based on the properties of th e perpendicular bisectors in the real plane, we introduce a new orthog onal relation in (E, \\ . \\) and its properties are investigated.
