The spectrum of osmium was photographed in the 225-2100 Angstrom regio
n on a 3-m normal incidence spectrograph using a triggered spark light
source and on a 10-m normal incidence spectrograph using a sliding sp
ark source. The (5d(5) + 5d(4)6s)-(5d(4)6p + 5d(3)6s6p) transition arr
ays of Os TV were investigated and 934 lines were classified between 7
05 Angstrom and 1995 Angstrom. The analysis has resulted in the determ
ination of 61 levels in the (5d(5) + 5d(4)6s) even system and of 124 l
evels in the 5d(4)6p configuration. Five levels of the 5d(3)6s6p confi
guration were also identified. The energy levels and their eigenvector
compositions have been described by means of the orthogonal operator
technique. The 2-particle magnetic operators of the dp-type are compar
ed with values obtained in other spectra. Accurate weighted transition
probabilities (gA-values) calculated by means of orthogonal operators
are also presented.
