Abstract
The proximate, antinutrient substances, mineral elements and amino aci ds composition of cooked Potadoma freethi and Coclicella acuta were de termined, The moisture contents of the samples were 73.47 and 70.16, r espectively. Crude proteins, crude fat, and ash contents were 38.33 an d 56.40; 2.50 and 4.40; 11.27 and 9.86% of dry matter, respectively. B oth samples were found to be rich in sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium, while iron, manganese, zinc and copper were present in small quantities, Also, both samples were richer in most of the essential am ino acids than hen's egg, the limiting amino acid being methlonine wit h a chemical score of 71.9 in P. freethi and 52.0% in C. acuta.
