e findings of production shop trials. The process can be optimised by
means of ladle furnaces, From an energy-related viewpoint, conventiona
l ladle furnaces are more favourable, as the energy losses at a studie
d a.c. plasma ladle furnace are higher due to the water-cooling of the
plasma burners.
