Abstract
alpha-quartz appears as an important material for high-frequency devic es due to its high frequency stability. The significant reduction of t he thickness due to the increase of the frequency requires a strong im provement of quality of alpha-SiO2 single crystals, in particular a lo w concentration of chemical and physical defects. Among the main physi co-chemical parameters able to help the achievement of such a goal, th e composition of the solvent has been investigated, the conventional a queous solutions of NaOH being replaced by NaF.
