Abstract
A stereo selective synthesis of beta-thymidine using eoxy-D-erythro-pe ntofuranosyl-trichloroacetimidate as the activating group is reported. This five-step route includes only one chromatographic purification w ith an overall yield of 30% in beta-thymidine and stereoselectivity of approximately 80%.
