The westernmost part of the Karakorum belt and its prosecution along E
ast Hindu Kush includes: 1) the southern portion of the Tash Kupruk Un
it. 2) the Shah Jinali Phyllites; 3) the Rich Gol Metamorphic Complex
(RGMC), a narrow belt of high-grade metabasites with serpentinites and
metapelites, which forms a narrow strip along the Tirich Mir Fault, s
eparating the Atark Unit (Hindu Kush?) from Karakorum metasediments. T
he RGMC may represent the easternmost part of similar complexes descri
bed around the Tirich Mir and may be linked to the boundary between Ka
rakorum and East Hindu Kush.
