New biostratigraphical, geochronological and geochemical data from Kur
island anti two near by dredgings allow us to show unknown events on
the eastern margin of the Weber basin: an Early Oligocene magmatic arc
; a tectono-metamorphic event between 24 and 17 Ma; and an Early Plioc
ene deformation, related to the collision between the Australian plate
and the Banda arc. The Weber basin was created during Pleistocene wit
h an uplift of its eastern margin. These events are briefly replaced w
ithin the geodynamic context of the Eastern Indonesia.
