Abstract
A sterically protected diphosphinidenecyclobutene 5 bearing a bulky 2, 4,6-triisopropylphenyl group is prepared and allowed to react with W(C O)(5)(thf) to give a doubly tungsten-coordinated complex 8, with chela te-and pi-type coordination; the structure of the complex is confirmed by X-ray analysis.
