Abstract
Stable cluster monolayers were produced on the surface of a stearic-ac id Langmuir monolayer. The topography of the cluster monolayers was in vestigated by STM. The clusters were found to form an ordered two-dime nsional lattice in the monolayer. Electron transport through a double- barrier tunnel nanostructure was investigated. As electrons tunneled a cross the barrier nanostructure, the Coulomb barrier potential was obs erved to decrease in a regular manner with an increase in the number o f nuclei per cluster.
