Abstract
Polyvalerolactone PVL and polycaprolactone PCL were synthesized by rin g-opening polymerization of delta-valerolactone and epsilon-caprolacto ne, respectively, using dibutyltin oxide as catalyst. Then, pervaporat ion dense membranes for ethanol dehydration were prepared from PVL and PCL. Water is preferably transferred; however, the selectivity factor alpha is low at similar to 4.
