The formation of a donor-acceptor complex between tetracyanoethylene a
nd hexamethylbenzene in solid PE films precipitated from chlorobenzene
(PE-I) and decane (PE-2) solutions has been investigated. The equilib
rium constant of the reaction is higher in PE-2 than in PE-I and, with
in the same solvent, in samples precipitated from more concentrated po
lymer solutions. Sorption measures and IR data show changes in the str
ucture of the amorphous zones of PE after precipitation. (C) 1997 Else
