Abstract
A 50-year-old man presented spontaneous internal carotid artery dissec tion with ischemic stroke. He had a history of deep venous thrombosis, and an activated protein C resistance due to factor V Leiden mutation was documented. He showed no other vascular risk factor. This unusual case puts the question whether this coagulation defect may be related to the stroke occurrence.
