Abstract
The Cauchy problem for Schrodinger-BBM type coupled equations is studi ed, which approximately describes the nonlinear dynamics of one-dimens ional Langmuir and ion-acoustic waves. Global well-posedness of the pr oblem is proved in space L-2 x L-2 and H-1 x H-1 under suitable condit ions.
