R. Tehver et al., THERMAL WALLS IN COMPUTER-SIMULATIONS, Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics, 57(1), 1998, pp. 17-20
The physical effects associated with the implementation of two differe
nt types of thermal (or stochastic) walls that could be used in comput
er simulations are considered. The effects of these boundary condition
s are first demonstrated using the ideal-gas model and then their infl
uence on interacting particles (with an example of hard spheres) is di
scussed.
