Abstract
In this paper we describe an example of on-off intermittency linked wi th the destruction of the torus attractor of a pair of coupled chaotic Lorenz systems. We show that this intermittency has similar propertie s to on-off intermittency linked with the destruction of the synchroni zed chaotic attractor located on the system invariant manifold and pro pose a possible mechanism for it.
