M. Liphard et A. Giza, THE EFFECT OF FOAM ON THE WASHING PERFORM ANCE WITH REGARD TO NEW CONTROL-SYSTEMS FOR WASHING MACHINES (FUZZY-LOGIC), Tenside, surfactants, detergents, 34(6), 1997, pp. 410-416
The formation of foam during die washing process can markedly affect t
he washing result. This was studied by determinations of the primary w
ashing power of a heavy-duty detergent with defoamers of various stren
gths. The effects of the new systems on foam formation and on other pa
rameters that influence primary washing performance were investigated
with washing machines that were identical in all respects except the e
lectronics that control the washing programs. The rue of the new contr
ol system has major consequences for the use of these washing machines
as test instruments for nerv detergents and/or new detergent componen
ts. Above all a high degree of standardization is required.
