The trend towards more compact powder-detergents puts increasing deman
ds on the deter gent builder. The layered disilicate SKS-6 meets these
demands, because it combines high performance per unit weight and a h
igh degree of multifunctionality. Detergent formulations can be develo
ped according to the principles of eco-labelling. The effect of deterg
ent usage on the concentration of silicates in surface waters can be a
ssessed by use of model calculations.
