Abstract
A rigorous diagrammatic description of stochastic wavefunction evoluti on for electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) and inversionles s gain in coherently driven three-level systems is developed and appli ed to transient and steady-state conditions. Wavefunction trajectories are illustrated for cases that include Lambda and V-type EIT, shelvin g and dressed-state resonances.
