Abstract
THE crash of 2000: The ''year 2000 bug'' will arrive in just two years , potentially wreaking havoc not only on computers but also on any sci entific equipment containing a computer chip; researchers should be aw are that it is far less expensive to correct programs in advance than to wait until a crash occurs, consultants and information specialists warn.
