OPERATION OF AN OXYGEN PUMP IN THE MODE OF A THOROUGH PURIFICATION OFGASES FROM OXYGEN

The operation of an oxygen pump in the mode of a thorough purification of gases is analyzed. The slow diffusion transport of oxygen to the e lectrode is taken into account in the analysis. Distributions of the c urrent density and the partial oxygen pressure in the gas and at the e lectrode throughout the length of the device channel are established. The influence exerted by the channel geometry, the applied voltage, th e oxygen content in the initial and exiting gas mixtures, and the elec trolyte resistance on the oxygen pump characteristics is illustrated b y the example of the oxygen pump based on the Ce0.8Sm0.2O1.9.
