Abstract
Models for the isothermal coarsening of secondary dendrite arms for bi nary alloys are simply expanded to correlate the secondary dendrite ar m spacing to local solidification time, melting temperature of the liq uid, and the properties of the solute elements in multicomponent alloy s. An equation is derived: Calculations using the equation show reason able qualitative agreement with experiment.
