We present a case report illustrating the complexity encountered in th
e diagnosis and treatment of patients with multiple diagnoses. The cli
nical presentation in Tourette syndrome, and the behavioural manifesta
tions in some cases of complex partial seizures can both be misunderst
ood and misdiagnosed. The paper, within the framework of a case, empha
sises the need for a multidisciplinary approach in the assessment and
management of such cases.
