AC Langille is a birdsfoot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus L.) cultivar de
veloped by the Nappan Research Farm, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
It was developed through two cycles of mass selection for winterhardi
ness and one cycle of mass selection for seedling vigor. The original
material was six distinct germplasms selected from the cultivar Leo an
d released from the Crop Science Department of the University of Guelp
h. AC Langille is superior to the check cultivar Leo in forage yield a
nd seedling vigor in Atlantic Canada.
