Z. Abduljabbar et al., ON THE VIBRATION AND CONTROL OF A FLEXIBLE ROTOR MOUNTED ON FLUID FILM BEARINGS, Computers & structures, 65(6), 1997, pp. 849-856
In this paper, an active vibration controller for controlling the dyna
mics of a flexible rotor running in flexibly-mounted journal bearings
is addressed. The control effort consists of two components. The first
is a state feedback controller designed to stabilize the system and t
o achieve desirable transient response. The second is a feed-forward c
ontroller, based on the state of the excitation model, designed to cou
nteract the effect of the external excitations on the system. The resu
lts have shown that a significant improvement in the system response i
s achieved by a stationary compensation of the selected set of excitat
ion frequencies. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
