The change in resistance of polyaniline on exposure to hazardous vapou
rs of HCl has been utilized for the fabrication of HCl industrial sens
or. The present note discusses various aspects of polyaniline based on
electronic spectral study, conductivity measurements and vibrational
study. These results indicate that polyaniline is an excellent materia
l for sensing HCl vapours.
