Abstract
Uranyl complex of isopropyl benzo phenyl hydroxamic acid was prepared from the reaction of uranyl nitrate and p-isopropyl benzo phenyl hydro xamic acid (pIPBHA) and characterised by elemental analysis and spectr oscopic methods. The crystal structure shows discrete molecules of UO2 (pIPBPHA)(2).EtOH with a pentagonal bipyramid geometry along with the two uranyl oxygens. The coordinated solvent molecule confines with the CO group of one ligand and the NO group of the other so that the enti re molecule is asymmetric.
