Abstract
X-band EPR spectra of ternary complexes, [Cu(dien)L](n+), where dien i s a tridentate nitrogen base diethylenetriamine and L is water, imidaz ole, 2-methylimidazole or 2-ethylimidazole (n=2) and imidazolate, 2-me thylimidazolate or 2-ethylimidazolate (n=1) have been studied in solut ion (DMSO, RT) and in frozen solution (DMSO, LNT). All the complexes s how feature for d(x2-y2) orbital ground state.
