M. Ralfs et J. Heinze, DISPOSABLE OPTOCHEMICAL SENSOR FOR THE DETERMINATION OF CHLORINE CONCENTRATIONS IN THE PPB-RANGE, Sensors and actuators. B, Chemical, 44(1-3), 1997, pp. 257-261
An optochemical sensor for the determination of chlorine concentration
s has been developed by immobilizing the redox indicator 4,4'-diamino-
3,3'-dimethylbiphenyl (o-tolidine) in a silicone-polycarbonate copolym
er membrane. Disposable sensors were obtained by coating small glass s
heets with thin films of the dye containing membrane. The determinatio
n of chlorine concentrations between 0.05 and 5.0 ppm has been carried
out. By this a calibration plot with a linear correlation between the
chlorine concentrations and the respective sensor responses was obtai
ned. The time for the analysis of the sensor response has been minimiz
ed by the application of a kinetical interpretation method. (C) 1997 E
