G. Haeusler et al., OMENTAL EVISCERATION AFTER LAPAROSCOPIC TREATMENT OF A TUBAL PREGNANCY - A CASE-REPORT AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE, Gynecologic and obstetric investigation, 45(1), 1998, pp. 66-67
The increasing use of the laparoscopic surgery in the management of gy
necologic diseases resulted in an increasing incidence of complication
s and the development of new complications. Postoperative complication
s are uncommon after laparoscopy. The most common complication is inci
sional herniation. A rare form of port-associated complications is ome
ntal evisceration. Since herniation through trocar incision Sites migh
t implicate severe complications, the use of safety techniques should
be applied on a routine basis to reduce laparoscopy-associated morbidi
ty.
