A. Balakrishnan et Cm. Carpenter, ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF HEAD-PREAMPLIFIER CONNECTIONS IN READ-WRITE CHANNELS FOR MAGNETIC RIGID-DISK DRIVES, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 34(1), 1998, pp. 24-29
In a magnetic rigid-disk drive, information to and from the data surfa
ces is transferred by a system that consists of a read/write preamplif
ier, conductors and the read and write transducers. Printed-circuit co
nductors are now replacing the connection between the head and the rea
d/write preamplifier that has conventionally been designed using twist
ed-pair wires. This paper provides a practical method of simulating th
e electrical behavior of these interconnects, and through comparisons
with measurements, demonstrates the validity of the design procedure.
