A. Grosjean et al., STUDY OF THE SURFACE-CHARGE OF SILICON-CARBIDE (SIC) PARTICLES FOR ELECTROLESS COMPOSITE DEPOSITS - NICKEL-SIC, Surface & coatings technology, 96(2-3), 1997, pp. 300-304
The aim of this work is develop interest in the electroless composite
deposits Ni-SiC and, more particulary, in the physicochemistry of the
particles used in relation to the deposit nickel bath. First, a pre-tr
eatment of particles in an acid solution is realized to eliminate the
impurities which hinder the codeposition process. Then, the surface ch
arge of particles towards the deposit bath without and with organic ad
ditives is studied, The influence of the use of these additives on the
electroless composite deposits Ni-SiC is then observed. The resulting
co-deposits are analysed under an optical microscope and the percenta
ge of included particles is determined bq-picture analysis. (C) 1997 E
